Training & Development Specialist

Summary

Our Client is seeking a Training and Development Specialist to assist in the coordination of training programmes and to support the company’s corporate strategy by identifying training needs, developing and delivering training courses and workshops to address identified training gaps.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assists in the identification of training and development needs and solutions for members of the sales team
  • Assists in the development of the annual sales training plan, schedule and budget
  • Designs training and development programmes based on organizational, branch and individual sales advisor needs
  • Coordinates the new advisor and state license examinations preparation programmes
  • Produces training material for in-house courses as needed
  • Coordinates and delivers training to members of the sales team as required
  • Develops training programme reports based on evaluation findings
  • Evaluates training and development programmes, modifying programme design as necessary to meet organizational needs
  • Maintains currency with developments in training - new methodologies and technologies in adult/workplace learning
  • Maintains currency with product development, upgrades to the Foresight Illustration program, the Advisor Reporting Solution Program (ARS) and the Electronic Application (E-App)
  • Assist members of the sales team and administrative staff with product related issues
  • Maintains accurate, comprehensive and up to date sales training records and statistics
  • Assists in the preparation of sales training analytics
  • Provides support to the administrative training function as required
  • Supports and contributes towards the general Human Resource Department activities
  • Undertakes special projects, as required
  • Performs any other related duties and handles special projects as may be requested by management

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications & Experience 

  • BSc in Human Resources, Management, Psychology, Insurance and Risk Management or related discipline
  • FLMI designation
  • At least two years experience in a training environment with direct responsibility / involvement in the design and delivery of training programmes
  • An understanding of adult and e- learning methodologies
  • An understanding of the Sales Cycle
  • A demonstrated competence in MS Office
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Good administrative and organizational skills
  • The ability to manage and safeguard confidential and sensitive information
