Senior Property Valuer

Summary

Our client is seeking a seasoned Property Valuer who will be responsible for administering property valuations and environmental assessments for commercial and residential real estate within Trinidad and Tobago and the Caribbean Region.

The Property Valuer will prepare, review and approve real estate evaluations, research and review data for environmental assessments and provide relevant consultation services to the company and its clients.

 Key Responsibilities

  • Undertaking thorough inspections of buildings and land to identify any characteristics or factors affecting value
  • Providing clients with a realistic valuation of their property and providing advice on acquisition, sales or investment
  • Preparing written reports of inspections
  • Providing information and valuations for businesses or legal organisations to aid dispute resolution, compensation claims or investment queries
  • Researching data for analysis (Market/Sales/Rent/Regional, etc)
  • Perform moderately high level of complexity internal evaluations/validations
  • Consult with Bank personnel on all matters of real estate valuation, market data, and/or environmental risk assessment
  • Work with junior staff to provide guidance support and training 
  • Oversee and advise on all aspects related to the valuation/appraisal process 


Work Hours 

  • Flexible, typically 9:00 am to 5:00 pm with the possibility of some evenings and weekends
  • Some travel is required when visiting property and sites

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in either of the following: Land Administration / Valuation and Estate Management / Investment and Financial Analysis / Quantity and Land Surveying / Urban Economics
  • Six (6)) to ten (10) years prior valuation work experience is required
  • Experience leading the completion of business valuations, or similar financial deliverables
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of governmental regulations affecting the bank appraisal function
  • Real estate appraiser license or equivalent 
  • Ability to analyse and report on census data, real estate data, related quantitative data sources and able to propose client solutions based on data analysis
  • Research and report writing skills
  • Required to have extensive knowledge of financial real estate processes, terms and principles
  • Must have a valid passport and be willing and able to travel
  • A high standard of written and verbal English proficiency
  • Clear Police Record 
  • Valid driver’s license
